We are the Augustinian Sisters of Divine Love found in Lamanoc, Merida, Leyte. You are welcome to our home, formation and retreat house known as CASA MAMRE. CASA means House and MAMRE is taken from the book of Genesis 18 where Abraham, our father of faith, welcomed the three visiting angels disguised as young men.
Thus, any visitor can feel at home in Casa Mamre as the angels felt when they visited Abraham. For us you are like an angel visiting our home.
OUR FOUNDATION
September 13, 1705 was our Foundation Day. On this day, Venerable Cardinal Mark Anthony Barbarigo founded the Congregation of the Augustinian Sisters of Divine Love in Montefiasconi, Italy.
The name "DIVINE LOVE" expresses the intention of the founder to gather women committed to service to God and brethren and to live in the charism: CALLED BY THE SPIRIT TO GIVE OURSELVES AND TO BE CONSUMED TOTALLY TO LOVE."
Love for Christ and for the Church is the more profound message of Barbarigo. Its actuality is the proclamation of Jesus Christ in which the Church brings to every generation. Its the message of Divine Love that opens the heart to hope and sustains it in its journey towards the summit of sanctity.
His impetuous and forceful passion was like a hurricane that has transmitted to the women who has followed him, bringing the gospel of Christ in various parts of the world.
Venerable Cardinal Mark Anthony Barbarigo was an indefatigable teacher and educator ever rousing to transmit until this flame of love will illumine our paths in our time.
